"Transforming.  Riding the Alps has been on my bucket list.  Me and a friend went with M2 through the French & Swiss Alps on the Grand Tour.  It was unbelievable.  How they built the mountain passes is baffling.  Riding the Alps transformed me.  After our tour I came back a much better rider thanks to M2.  The food & hotels were excellent.  I've never eaten that many good meals in a row...ever.  *****"  Steve B.,  Chicago "We went on the Grand Tour through Switzerland, France and Italy.  By far it was the ride of our lives.  The Alps and Dolomites are incredible to see and ride.  We got to do the Stelvio Pass which is a must-do.  My wife isn't too crazy about riding with me, she gets bored, but she loved everything.  If there's one ride to do, this is it."  Mike & Sandi P., Atlanta

The Hills are Alive…with the sound of M2 MotoTours

Le Grand Tour Switzerland Motorcycle Tour features the best of the European Alps, and more.  Picture postcard scenery.  Very well maintained roads.  Epic mountain passes.  Feats of civil engineering.  Cheese…Chocolate…Watches.

The Grand Tour Switzerland is a tourist route featuring some of the best roads, sites and cities that Switzerland has to offer.  Bucolic scenery at every turn.  A great way to discover this beautiful country and the European Alps.

If you were to travel the exact itinerary of the Grand Tour as it is laid out, you’d end up missing some of the best thing Switzerland has to offer for motorcycle riders.

With that in mind, we did a little tinkering here and there and voila: an improved Grand Tour especially designed for motorcycle touring.  What we’ve done is remove some roads that might be more suitable for cars or campers (yawn), and replaced them with some serious mountain passes (yeah!).

The (Improved) Le Grand Tour Switzerland Motorcycle Tour

Here’s our take on the Grand Tour of Switzerland especially geared towards motorcycling.

After getting acquainted in Grenoble we’ll set off for Switzerland.  We’ll make a stop in Annecy with its beautiful namesake lake.  The old town has a system of canals similar to Venice or Brugge.  After a visit and plenty of souvenir pictures we’ll continue on our way to Chamonix.  From here we can view the Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the European Alps.

Swiss Mountain Passes

After a good night’s rest in Chamonix, we’ll cross over into Switzerland and begin our Grand Tour.  We’ll be hitting some fantastic mountain passes such as the Oberalp, Fluela and Furka Pass.

Adding a little variety into the mix, we’ll stop in Interlachen, a charming town in between two major Swiss lakes.

Dolomites Motorcycle Touring in Italy

You wanted Switzerland Motorcycle Tours?  Well, you get a motorcycle tour of Switzerland, and then some more.  Like a motorcycle tour in Italy too.

Following the interesting riding roads across Switzerland, we’ll be drawn to Italy.  Touring our way into Italy you’ll witness the Dolomites, a natural wonder that are part of the Southern Limestone Alps.

18 of the peaks surpass 3000 meters.  The Dolomites mountain range features sheer faces, cliffs, and craggy peaks.  Le Corbusier referred to as “the most beautiful work of architecture ever seen”.  Just when you thought you’d seen all the possible types of mountains, you’ll be amazed when you set your eyes on these.

We’ll spend the night in Canazei and continue touring around the region.  The Dolomites are a perennial favorite on motorcyclists’ bucket lists, so you can now check them off yours.

Stelvio Pass Motorcycle Tour

The Stelvio Pass

Since we’re in the neighborhood of the Stelvio Pass, we couldn’t send you home without riding it.   That just wouldn’t be right.

The Stelvio Pass (2,7557m): located on the Italian/Swiss border, featuring 75 hairpin turns, and another bucket list road to check off. A marvel of civil engineering, a motorcyclist’s delight. Our counterparts at Top Gear BBC voted it as the best driving road in the world.

If we can, we’ll pop over to St. Moritz, a beautiful ski resort any time of the year.  On the shore of a beautiful lake, St. Moritz is a calm and tranquil town perfect for a stop.

“I gave this tour as a gift to my husband who always wanted to ride the Alps.
From getting picked up at the airport and dropped off at the end, we had the most amazing trip.
He was really happy riding and talking everything bikes with the guys.
I was happy with the visits, food and hotels, especially the spa at the last one.
The mountain scenery is breathtaking and the M2 team took well care of us. ”

“I convinced my wife to do the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy tour.
She was reluctant to go at first, but after meeting the group and visiting places like
Mont St. Michel, Stonehenge, & London she was having a great time.
The riding in France, Wales, & England was great.
The racing on the Isle of Man is definitely a bucket-list event.
Any serious motorcyclist should get there at least once.
We had so much fun, the wife said we can go again! Thanks for a great trip M2!”

Lenny & Lisa HansIsle of Man 2014

“The last time I rode in mountains was over 25 years ago
and I was afraid I’d embarrass myself in front of the group in the hairpins.
The M2 staff got me up to speed and feeling confident right away.
The countryside in Europe is beautiful and the roads were made for motorcycling.
Next time I’ll go on a longer tour.”
